When multiple Neural Nose devices are deployed, the platform can become an olfactory swarm:
Spatial Chemical Mapping
Working with our nanotechnology platforms, neurons across nodes compare classifications, measure concentration gradients, and estimate direction of source. Outputs include leak-source triangulation, contamination plume mapping, odor diffusion modeling, and HVAC optimization feedback—a Smell GIS platform for oil and gas, wastewater, smart buildings, airports, and military bases.
Distributed Consensus Classification
Multiple devices classify the same air simultaneously, running majority vote, weighted confidence fusion, and cross-validation. This dramatically reduces false positives and enables high-assurance and regulatory-grade chemical confirmation.
Swarm Learning (Federated Olfactory Learning)
Each device learns locally and uploads compressed neuron signatures. The cloud aggregates updates and pushes improved patterns back. No raw chemical data leaves the site. This enables rapid adaptation to new compounds, defense against novel threats, and industry-specific smell libraries—building toward a global chemical knowledge network.
