Unlike conventional AI approaches that separate training from inference—that often require expensive GPU clusters for learning, then porting knowledge to a separate inference engine—Neural AI’s SUM™ technology integrates learning and inference as a single concept on the same neuromorphic platforms. Research Heritage
Our technology mission builds on deep roots at the University of California and Lawrence Berkeley National Lab. Our R&D subsidiary is committed to neuron-accelerated designs based on multiple neural architectures and solutions, coupling openly available neuron components with proprietary IP to create powerful and unique neuromorphic application solutions. The neuromorphic concept itself traces to Carver Mead’s pioneering work at Caltech in the late 1980s—and Neural AI represents the commercial maturation of that vision across generations of silicon.
